Hi all,
as I am writing from an expensive internet terminal at a backpacker in Queenstown this will be just a short update :(
We have already finished the first half of our two-week around the south island trip and we are staying in lovely/tiny Queenstown (pop 9500) since two days. After some sightseeing stops around Christchurch and a four hour walk at the beautiful Hooker Valley at Mt. Cook nationalpark we did lots of snowsports in the last days. At Mt. Hutt (nearly one week ago) and Mt. Dobson I was skiing where as the two other guys did/tried snowboarding. Two days ago we where at Treble Cone where I decided to try out snowboarding as well - after two and a half days of falling down the slopes it turned out to be fun - and now I am able to ride down the beginners hill without falling too often :).
Tomorrow morning I will do the nevis highwire bungy (134 m, the biggest one in NZ...) and in the next couple of days we will drive up north again and do some walks and a glacier tour at Franz Josef Glacier.
From the middle of august till middle of december I will be in singapore at the MixedRealityLab to write my diploma thesis on one part of the Metazoa Ludens project - maybe I should change the title of my blog then...
Cya later and have fun
Johannes
